Upscore Service Privacy
Purpose of Upscore measurement
Upscore performs analyses on behalf of website operators to determine the attractiveness of the content offered on their websites. As a result, the clients receive information about:
- the total number of views per content item
- when these views occurred and the average dwell time
- which channels and device types were used to access the content
Upscore measurement does not require or use personal data. It is content-based and not user-based.
Technical basis
Upscore uses JavaScript integrated into an HTML document during content delivery to analyse a page visit anonymously. During collection, aggregated analyses based on individual views are created to provide insight into the attractiveness of the content. The analysis objects are always the provider's content, for example that an article was viewed 1,000 times.
Data collected
The calculated performance metrics are aggregated according to various criteria in relation to the individual content items and do not use personal characteristics at any time. No profiling takes place.
No storage of IP addresses
IP addresses of website users are used only to receive analytics data on the server side. IP addresses are deleted immediately and are not stored.
No use of cookies
Upscore does not use cookies for its measurements.
Usage and storage period
The respective website operator, as the client, can access the data aggregated by Upscore via password-protected access. Aggregated data on the attractiveness of content is stored for up to 13 months.
Rights
If there is reason to believe that data processing violates data protection law or that data protection rights have otherwise been infringed, website users may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
